Fall out Boy - Infinite on high
If this is your first fall out boy experierence and your enjoying the album, its probably becuase you enjoy your dance music more than the punk sound that we are used to by FOB. If you like your dance music your likely to take to this album like a scene kid to eyeliner (whether it looks good or not).
But dont get me wrong, it grows on you, whether you want it to or not. Lyrically the words aren't up to the "take this to your grave" standard us FOB veterans are used to, and to be hounest, i dont think they`ll be making anything of that standard ever again. This album is a typical "third album" they have attempted to change their sound like soo.. many other artists before them and as we aren't used to it, it hasnt gone down well.
Having gone out to my local rock club every week since I cant remember when, I am aware that the songs are better to dance to, this is an upside to the new song. But for listening in your room / live, i dont think its going to make there "friends or enemies" tour go as sucsessfuly as there previous two tours. I might be wrong, but this is just my humble opinoin.
I was impressed with the video for the single in the most part for the detail and budget, you can tell that these have been greatly increased. It inco-orperates links to previous videos and references to previous FOB songs just to remind you where they have come from. I wish they had remembered it when they wrote the album....
nonetheless, i cant actually put down the whole album, there are tracks such as "Don't You Know Who I Think I Am?" which remind me of the old style of FOB, and is very good to dance to. I also love the track with the longest name on the album "I'm Like A Lawyer With The Way I'm Always Trying To Get You Off (Me & You)" its lyrically good, and not as "dance" as i think they wish it had been.
Overall the album is going to go platinum. We all know this to be true, all the 13-16year old scene kids will buy this just to keep their FOB collection complete. The dance generation which seems to be creeping into the world of music will buy it just due to the dance factor of over half of the album. As this snow balls they`ll make a foutune out of "Infinity on high" and rightly so.
overall : 4/5

frenetic energy!
so to introduce my first band of the day The mad capsule markets hailing from the land of the rising sun ( Japan) have already successfuly debuted in the U.K and the U.S. their music is teribbly hard to define into one particular genre, an incredibly rare thing to find these days. imagine a mix of technology based music backed up with a hard dose of pure fun. some have described the M.C.M as Digital hardcore thrash-punk pop. can you remember that ever being a genre?? me either. the M.C.M have built a phenomenal fan base in their homeland of Japan and look set on bringing their unique music to the rest of the world.
with a new album coming up and tour dates in the U.K (inc Download Festival) i would seriously consider going to see this band. i believe i would buy a download ticket just to see this band.
their supposed to be an absolutely phenomenal live band fuelled with energy. (who wouldnt want to see three crazy japanese guys running around a stage whilt they pump out some frantic tunes? i know i would)
here are my three best tunes from the M.C.M spanning the better part of a decade, enjoy.
Mad capsule markets - pulse
this song is the bonus track on their cistm konfliqt album.
a few tips for listening to this track.
- turn volume to loud
- sit down and strap yourself in
- prepare to have your face melted and blown away.
Mad capsule Markets - all the time in sunny beach
from the album - 020120
a very upbeat punk -esque ditty. kind of reminds me of the ramones in places. definitely a song to make you smile.
Mad capsule markets - happy ride
from the album - happy ride
this song does just what the title of the song says, taking you on a very technical happy ride. this song makes me feel like playing a racing game. im going to vote for this song to be listed as one of the greatest driving songs of all time.
next im going to introduce a fairly new band that have been getting a lot of hype recently and have just released a video to be played on kerrang and mtv2.
not that this means much anymore judging by the calibre of bands that get played on Kerrang "cough" my chem "cough".
but after listening to this track i immediately fell in love with this band i dont know whether its my love for music with synths in it or the vocals that this band have, all i know is you have to listen to them. introducing 30 seconds to mars
from their new album - a beautiful lie
now to introduce my third and final band sabrepulse.
sabrepulse are part of a new breed of bands pioneering a new genre of music typically branded chip - break this new music is derived predominantly from game music from systems such as nintendo and sega. their songs are fashioned on drum n bass rave style music with the nintendo sounds fused together to create interesting melodies. sabrepulse's songs are amazingly complex and this song is what i consider to be their best work. it really shows off what sabrepulse can do.
if you like this band here is a list of other bands that have similar material that you should check out.

now to introduce an amazing sounding band Boards of Canada a band who describe themselves as psychedelic/experimental/electronica but personally i only see the psychedelic side of them there not very experimental in terms of pushing the barriers down in fact i think there quite the opposite and neatly fit into the ambient box.
put simply i could see myself sitting down to a nice bit of green and tripping to boards of canada.
with big sounding effects that paint landscapes in your mind, boards of canada are a truly ambient band who have made some great songs. they join the ranks of my top 5 today because of their song dayvan cowboy wich is just plain amazing.

now say hello to metric a band with incredible hype on the blogging network. ( they also have an impressive amount of faux myspace pages )
Metric are an impressive band and are on tour now in england!. check this to see what dates and where.
if you are an mtv2 fan you may have already heard there songs "monster hospital" or "dead disco" two amazing songs but im going to introduce you to a lesser known track by them wich is just as good if not better.
this is one of my personal favourite metric tunes

metric - dr blind
I have to say that when i first heard The red Jumpsuit Apparatus i was a bit sceptical to say the least. i thought they were O.K. but that was before i heard some of there really great tracks.
there tracks are done better acoustic simple. they sound prettier and it really enhances the lead singers voice without all the messy music in the background. acoustically it allows him to really come into his own and show the true talent he posesses. though it has to be said his lyrics are shit hot. especially in this song face down.
